The Starter Package
Helmi Lesson Plan Starter Package consists of 20 carefully selected Lesson Plans from different themes. Inspired by quality Finnish early childhood education Helmi Lesson Plans are child-centered, activating, and fun! Helmi lesson plans are based on the National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Finland. They include objectives from five learning areas, which describe the main goals and contents of the pedagogical activities. The Starter Package includes 2 hours of online training with Finnish education experts, helping you to use Helmi Lesson Plans in the most effective and fun way.

The structure of lesson plans guides the teacher through every step of the lesson. Lesson plans contain materials needed and also tips for books and songs that can be used.
In Paw Prints learning theme children learn about animals, but the theme is also used to learn many other things such as motor skills, teamwork, math, and languages. Lesson Plans are designed in a way that the teacher can use and reuse the whole Lesson Plan or part of it several times.

Lesson Plan Theme: Nature
Children learn about nature, plants, animals, bugs, and many other interesting things by exploring them using their all senses. Through art, music, and sport it is possible to explore the environment and learn how to recycle and reuse. Lesson Plans can be implemented either in the classroom or outdoors. Even math and science can be studied in nature if you look close enough.

Ocean
Children will learn about Oceans with engaging arts, literature, and science projects. Ocean Lesson Plans emphasize an action-based and holistic approach to learning without forgetting that learning is also great fun.
This theme includes five lessons from each season - Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. With the help of these lesson plans, it is easy to teach phenomena like sun, air, rain, and wind. Children study parts of the plants, different berries, mushrooms, and flowers, and practice how to grow a plant. Lessons are designed to increase the joy of learning and to encourage children to search for more information.

My Community
Children will be introduced to the community workers, such as police, firefighters, medical staff, or cleaners, and they learn more about their important work through music, art, drama play, sports, and math. These activities improve children's socio-emotional skills and teach them how to identify and manage their emotions. Children will learn how to comfort a friend and make them feel better.
